Migrant Wellness Program Coordinator & Interpreter

Rogelio (Roy) came to UHHR after completing his Fulbright English Teaching placement in Chiapas, Mexico. He grew up in Salt Lake City and his parents are originally from Mexico. As a first generation student, he has completed bachelor's degrees at the University of Utah in Latin American Studies, Anthropology, and Biology. He has volunteered for several organizations supporting immigrant and refugee community health and hopes to become a doctor in the future to continue serving these populations. Roy is fluent in English & Spanish, speaks advanced Portuguese, proficient French and enjoys learning the languages he hears in our offices including Arabic and Swahili. Rogelio coordinates the Migrant Wellness Program (MWP) extension services at UHHR, which facilitate essential behavior and psychosocial health services for vulnerable migrant families.
